1950s Ercol 403 armchair

A rare and interesting ercol chair from the late 1950s. For the ercol enthusiast this chair is an unusual example from the first introduction year of the 403 featuring a fully upholstered back with tension springs used on the back and seat identical to the 248 model. The 403 frame was very quickly adapted by ercol to feature pirrelli type webbing and marketed as the new floating back model. This chair differs from the 248 with squarer proportions and a deeper seat. Original Blonde frame with blue label in superb condition with all new upholstery and cushion covered in a quality green/white woven fabric. Seat height 42cm
