An extremely unusual arts and crafts mahogany chair built with very fine craftsmanship and using pegged construction. This upholstered chair was influenced by the traditional orkney chair style but also curiously has a Chinese influence in its fine cabriole legs and lattice seat base. The chair has been reupholstered in green anaconda cut velvet from The House of Hackney and has a new professionally made squab cushion. The chair dates to c1900 and is in a remarkable structural and cosmetic condition. Seat height 51cm
