A Morris and co chair from the Hampton range designed by architect Richard Norman Shaw for the furnishing of the Tabard inn. This chair is a upholstered variant on uncommon cabriole front legs. This chair has been professionally restored. The upholstery was removed and loose joints reglued. Although I don't believe original, the fabric is antique and in excellent condition. This has been washed and reupholstered on the chair with new braid. Small repair to a split on one of the pad foots 100% sound and barely visible. A very Standen House feel to this chair, who have a pair of Hampton chairs in their collection.
