A nineteenth century short armed rush seated chair. I believe this chair to be French and undoubtably the inspiration for the Pass chair designed by Arts and crafts designer Ernest Gimson in the early twentieth century. Ash frame in solid condition with wear commensurate with age and minor cosmetic repairs. Generous size seat professionally rewoven in traditional common bullrush. Seat height 42cm
